First Team All-Star:
GK – #65 | Jasper Krasek | FC Toronto RED | 2028 Grad
Jasper Krasek, the FCT RED GK was outstanding all weekend. Not often do you have a GK that plays so maturely at such a young age. Through his presence, he commands his box. There were several moments throughout the tournament where Jasper had to make some big saves. FCT Red like to play out of the back, so having a composed and technical keeper to build through was a tremendous asset for their side.
DEF – #3 | Lyndon McDonald | Toronto United | 2028 Grad
Lyndon McDonald, the Toronto United CB, was a rock at the back for his side. Although smaller in stature in comparison to some opposition forwards his age, Lyndon held his own defensively, timing his tackles very well. His biggest asset as a player is his intelligence on the ball. Lyndon was able to dictate tempo for his team. The timing of his sharp passes to teammates put them in excellent positions to progress forward with the ball.
CM – #10 | Christian Aquino | International FC | 2028 Grad
Christian Aquino, the CAM/CM for International FC, was a standout performer on his side. He offered a talisman of creativity in the middle of the park. Christian often found pockets of space in between the midfield channels and instantly triggered an opportunity to run at back lines, forcing oppositions to make a decision of whether to step and leave space in behind or allow him the space to strike the ball from distance. A dead ball specialist, Christian was able to create chances for his team from set pieces as well.
CM – #27 | Francesco Bruno | Glen Shields Juventus | 2028 Grad
Francesco Bruno, the CDM/CM for Glen Shields Juventus was the best performing player at the FTF x VSC Spring Showdown U15B Division and was awarded the Overall MVP. Technically Francesco is far more advanced than the majority of players his age. His IQ for the game is very high, ball retention in tight areas was excellent, weight of pass and distribution was quite good as well. The biggest difference that sets him apart from the rest is his engine. Francesco is a workhorse, and is guaranteed to put in 110% to cover ground, or get stuck into a challenge. The only question is, does he continue to play as a CDM or transition to a FB at the next level?
FWD – #30 | Nico Prete | Glen Shields Juventus | 2028 Grad
Nico Prete, the WGR for Glen Shields Juventus was electric in moments throughout the FTF x VSC Spring Showdown. When you look at Nico, the first thing you probably notice is his stature as he stands about a foot taller than the majority of players his age. Second thing you notice is that he has a touch as soft as butter. There was quite a few moments where you would hear commentary of “what a touch” on the sidelines when he would take the ball down. He has a ‘brazilian style’ to his game with the amount of flair, creativity and delicate yet precise passes. For us, we believe Nico’s biggest asset is the fact that he seems thrilled at the opportunity to take players on. Any chance he gets in the final third, he will challenge his defending FB. For a player with that much potential, it’s imperative that he stays humble and keeps putting in the work.
