As fall deepens, the U16/2008 boys’ soccer teams across Canada continue to impress with their skill, strategy, and results in competitive leagues and showcase events. Here’s the November 2024 update of the Top 10 Teams, highlighting their performances and why they deserve their place among Canada’s elite.


1. Vaughan SC B16 | OPDL

Performance: Vaughan SC holds firm at the top of the rankings, thanks to their remarkable consistency and dominance. They closed out October by clinching the OPDL Charity Shield, proving their strength against the toughest competition. Vaughan also remained undefeated at the FTF Fall Showcase, cementing their position as Canada’s top U16 team with a perfect blend of offensive firepower and defensive discipline.


2. Woodbridge SC B16 | OPDL

Performance: Woodbridge remains a strong contender, bouncing back from a semi-final loss to North Toronto SC in the OPDL playoffs. They reclaimed momentum by winning the FTF Fall Showcase, which boosts them back to second place in the rankings. Their ability to perform at a high level under pressure solidifies their reputation as one of the nation’s best teams.


3. Codiac U16 Boys | New Brunswick SL


Performance: Codiac U16 had an impressive season, crowned champions of the New Brunswick SL while playing up a year in the U17 division. Competing and winning at a higher age group underscores their quality and potential, earning them a spot as one of Canada’s top U16 teams.

4. FC Laval | PLSJQ

Performance: FC Laval showcased their talent at the FTF Fall Showcase, finishing with a 1-1-1 record against strong Ontario competition. Despite dropping a few spots, their ability to compete against some of Canada’s best ensures their continued status among the country’s elite.


5. Vancouver Island Wave | BCSPL

Performance: Vancouver Island Wave had a standout season, winning the Phase 2 BCSPL Championship and ending with the best goal differential in the league (+20). Their clinical performances and solid defensive structure propelled them to fifth in this month’s rankings.


6. Prostars FC U16 2008 Blue | GHSL

Performance: Prostars dominated the GHSL and made a strong impression at the FTF Fall Showcase, finishing second overall. They recorded four wins and just one loss, narrowly falling to #2-ranked Woodbridge SC. Their consistent results highlight their competitiveness and ability to challenge the nation’s top teams.


7. Calgary Villains | APDL

Performance: Calgary Villains continued their undefeated streak in the APDL through November, proving they are a powerhouse in Alberta. Their ability to maintain form throughout the season places them firmly in this month’s top 10.


8. Dutch Connections Black | I-Model U17

Performance: Competing up an age group in the I-Model U17 division, Dutch Connections finished the regular season as champions, missing the title by just one point after a playoff loss. Their ability to excel against older, more experienced teams highlights their exceptional talent and resilience.


9. CS St. Laurent | PLSJQ

Performance: CS St. Laurent added two key wins in October to finish second in the highly competitive PLSJQ U16 standings. Their strong league form and consistent performances ensure they remain among Canada’s most formidable teams.


10. Surrey United | BCSPL

Performance: Surrey United impressed with an undefeated Phase 2 season in the BCSPL. However, their loss in the championship game to Vancouver Island Wave caused a slight drop in this month’s rankings. They remain the top U16 team on the West Coast, showcasing depth and talent.
