In only two season with Pitt University, Swedish-born Canadian Amanda West has already asserted herself has one of the best players in the history of the program. The electrifying Forward leads the program in several statistical categories such as goals (twenty-three), points (fifty-nine) and overtime goals (four). West is a player who loves to attack early and often, in her first NCAA game with Pitt, West instantly looked like a star with a seven-point night including three goals and an assist against Loyola Marymount (8/23/19). At this pace, West will surely go down as one of the best strikers in NCAA history.

The Burlington, Ontario native spent her youth soccer career playing for the Burlington Bayhawks under Head Coach Casey Downey, and helped them capture an Ontario Cup Championship in 2017/18. West comes from a family of athletes as her Father, Marc West was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 1985 NHL Draft. Amanda is more than just a soccer player she plans on majoring in biology during her time with the Panthers.

West followed up a very impressive Freshmen season in which she immediately led the team with ten goals, nine assists and twenty-nine points, with an historic Sophomore season. In 2020, West went from leading the team to leading the entire Nation with thirteen goals and thirty-three points. The prolific goal scorer was selected as a member of the All-ACC Second Team which was the highest individual ACC honor in Panther history. Most importantly, West guided Pitt to an 11-5-0 record which marked only the third winning season in Panther history.

With a potential two seasons left to go in her career, West has many more records left to shatter for Pitt. The program single season point leader with thirty-three points, West is a player to look out for a potential International selection for with Canada or Sweden. With a knack for scoring goals, both Canada and Sweden should be very intrigued by the quality of play in Amanda West.
