Bio & Career
My name is Jenika. I am a centre-back. I began my soccer career at the age of 4 and competitively at the age of 9. I started off as a defensive mid and goalkeeper but then realized how much I loved the centre-back position. I am interested in going to a school in Canada. I’ve won regional championships with my high school soccer team. My biggest assets on the field are my communication and leadership. I enjoy the french language and am working towards becoming bi-lingual in English and French. My goal is to get a Health Sciences degree and then attend medical school while playing soccer. I am a competitor at heart. I consider myself coachable, personable and take constructive criticism well on how to improve my overall game. I enjoy the process of building up to games and tournaments and try to demonstrate this by being the hardest worker on the pitch or in the gym, by putting 100% effort in. In the centre-back position, I am exposed to the entirety of the field. I consider myself a ‘play maker’ because of my vision on the field. Highlights of my soccer career with the Barrie SC include the Girls Frank Sobil Spring Classic Champions, the Oshawa Kicks Tournament Champions and the Girls YRSL League Champions. Highlights of my soccer career with my current team Union FC include the 2020 Provincial Indoor Soccer League Champions. In high school, I was named captain of the 2019 season soccer team and earned MVP and Coaches Award honours. I was also captain of my high school basketball and volleyball teams, earning MVP honours in both during the 2019 season. Academics are my priority, however I continue to manage high school sports, soccer training as well as a parti time job. I have an above 90% average that I will continue to strive to maintain until graduation. I hope to play at a university level and continue to demonstrate the importance of teamwork and academics.
