The Playbook | BCSPL 2009 Girls League Cup Final

Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC

#16 | Alexa Moore | WNG

Moore was the bright spot in attack for her team, constantly making a nuisance of herself to her opponents. Moore looked to receive passes in wide positions to run at defenders. She varied her runs to receive passes in behind and at her feet and looked to link up with her teammates in attack. Moore gambled on a through ball and capitalized on a defensive error and scored a well taken goal from roughly 35 yards out.

#8 | Corinne Cyr | CDM

Cyr sets the tempo for her team both in and out of possession. In possession, Cyr controls the rhythm for CMFSC, constantly keeping the ball and finding advanced players out wide or in half spaces. Out of possession, she breaks up play from the opponents very efficiently. She does so by screening passes into strikers, or winning countless tackles to win the ball back for her team.

#12 | Kallee Lennstrom | CM

Lennstrom’s all-action play causes so many problems for opponents as she impacts every facet of a match. She moves relentlessly, both in and out of possession. Off the ball, she presses constantly while screening potential passes, never letting her opponent rest or find an easy outlet. On the ball, she finds half spaces so well and looks to find forward, splitting passes to create chances for her teammates.

TSS Rovers

#77 | Peyton Rogers | LB

Rogers was effective on both sides of the ball for TSS as she bombed up and down the left flank tirelessly for the entirety of the match. Defensively, she was difficult to beat and protected space in behind well, winning most foot races. In attack, she activated very well in the final third, finding space to whip dangerous crosses in the opponents box.

#11 | Sophie Billan | CAM

Billan was her sides most creative threat, as most offensive chances involved her participation. Billan looks to operate in the half space, constantly forcing defenders into uncomfortable spots. She always looks to receive on the half turn, and is comfortable beating defenders to the left or right. Billan always looks to find splitting passes, and capped her performance with a well deserved goal.

#13 | Taylor Fincham | CB

Fincham was resolute and composed during the final. She was dominant in her 1v1 battles both physically in duels and athletically while protecting the space behind her defensive partners. Technically, she is calm on the ball and comfortable playing passes out of any type of pressure. Fincham showcased her excellent passing range, finding outlets all over the pitch, including crossfield passes.
