The Playbook | Top U17/2007 Boys Teams in Canada (August 2024)

As the summer season progresses, the U17/2007 Boys teams in Canada continue to showcase their prowess across various leagues. Here are the top-ranked teams for August 2024:

Rankings (W-D-L)

1. CS St-Laurent | PLSJQ
Record: 12 Wins, 2 Draws, 1 Loss
Performance: With a win in the first-ever PDP Canada National Championships, CS St-Laurent comes in as the top team in the country. An undefeated month of August and a 7-point lead in the PLSJQ further solidifies their position at number one.


2. North Toronto | League 1 Ontario U20
Record: 11 Wins, 2 Draws, 3 Losses
Performance: North Toronto finished strong in League 1 Ontario U20, securing second place with a solid record. They aim to replicate their consistency and strength in the U20 Fall Reserve season, which has just begun.


3. BTB | EMSA
Record: 12 Wins, 1 Draw, 1 Loss
Performance: BTB topped the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) standings and qualified for Canada Soccer Toyota Nationals, ending the season in dramatic fashion.


4. North Mississauga | League 1 Ontario U20
Record: 10 Wins, 3 Draws, 2 Losses
Performance: North Mississauga’s strong performance in League 1 Ontario U20 has earned them a spot among the elite teams in Canada. They’ve started the U20 League 1 Ontario Fall season 1-0.


5. Sigma FC | League 1 Ontario U20
Record: 7 Wins, 5 Losses, 2 Draws
Performance: Sigma came on strong to end the U20 Summer Season and started the Fall Season with a strong performance. Playing up in U20 as a predominantly younger group, Sigma is expected to improve over the next few months.


6. Burnaby FC 07B | BCSPL
Record: 6 Wins, 1 Draw, 3 Losses
Performance: Burnaby FC finished second in BC’s top league and placed second at the inaugural PDP Nationals, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the country.


7. Saskatoon Alliance | PSL
Record: 9 Wins, 0 Draws, 0 Losses
Performance: Saskatoon Alliance’s perfect record in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) showcases their dominance in Saskatchewan. Having qualified for Canada Soccer Toyota Nationals, they are expected to compete strongly outside the province soon.


8. Halifax County | NSSL
Record: 12 Wins, 2 Draws, 2 Losses
Performance: Halifax County’s strong performance in the Nova Scotia Soccer League (NSSL) and playoffs earned them a spot at Canada Soccer Toyota Nationals, marking them as one of Canada’s top U17 teams.


9. Vaughan | OPDL
Record: 9 Wins, 3 Draws, 0 Losses
Performance: Despite a rocky start in the newly rebranded OPDL Premier Division, Vaughan remains undefeated in Ontario’s top league, which is an impressive achievement and keeps them among the top contenders.


10. Fusion FC | BCSPL
Record: 6 Wins, 2 Draws, 2 Losses
Performance: Winning the BCSPL was a major achievement for Fusion FC, and their third-place finish at PDP Nationals rounds them out as one of the top 10 teams in the country.
